During my time with Noeleen, I have learnt that: Our bodies are made up of 70% water. Our diet should reflect this. We eat plants as they are 70% water too. Consistency is key. This is not a fad, it’s a way of life. We eliminate animal proteins, oil, and processed foods. You only need 15% fat and 15% protein in your diet. These too should be plant based. Eating badly might not show overnight - it’s accumulative over time. Over the last 15 years, since I had children, I slowly became unhealthy & overweight. I changed to the plant based way of eating advocated by Noeleen. While I have lost 10kgs, I know, it will take time to correct the damage I’ve done to my body. I need to be patient as I restore it to its optimal health. But ultimately, you are what you eat. It’s never too late to make this change. If you are wanting to achieve weight loss, it’s 80% determined by what you eat. We exercise every day to support our bodies and develop our muscles. After 5 years of desperate dieting.... having put on more than 10 kg in that time.... mostly following the herd... and eating very high fat, low carb foods. Yes, Banting, the Keto Diet etc. I did them all. I stopped eating meat 3 years ago but was eating lots of fatty fish... needless to say I lost no weight and in fact, my weight increased. I did do moderate exercise.. walking4 or 5 times a week. This had no effect as my heart rate never increased... Then, through a friend, I heard about Noeleen.. who has completely changed my life. Her rules around food... basic but so effective... “no meat, no dairy, no oil, no bread” and her exercise regime have resulted in me losing 17kg, 20 cm around my waist and 20 cm around my bum. All this in 7 months... I feel great... I exercise every day.. 3 to 4 times a week at the gym and 5km to 7km on the treadmill on the other days. The combination of weight training and cardio is the winner. Exercise has become a routine and I’m loving it. Besides the basics mentioned above, Noeleen has taught me to think about the state of my mind and body... her consistent and insightful information she imparts to us in class is invaluable. Wowzers! Where do I begin to describe the journey that changed and saved my life?! Had tried many training programs, diets and lifestyles in the past. Some worked briefly, some didn’t work at all, but at the end of the day the results I had never lasted and they weren’t a lifestyle I would be able to sustain for a life time. Before I met Noeleen I had had major hormonal issues and been told I had an auto immune disease. I was weak, tired all the time and had gained 11 kg over the course of a year. I was exhausted by trying to live as healthy as I knew how but always getting bad news from doctors and never feeling great despite all my efforts. At the end of 2018 I met a woman who was about to turn 40. She had a sparkle in her eyes, a spring in her step, she laughed constantly and she looked like she was 28. She had the most credible body and I had literally never met any one with so much radiant energy in my life. I was like “I want what this woman has. What ever it is I need it in my life.” She told me she trains with Noeleen so I thought let me give it a try and see how it goes. I’ve always thought of myself as fit because I can walk for miles even though I had never been able to run. Just thought i wasn’t built for it. OMG! In my first session with Noeleen I felt ill and thought I was going to die because I was so unfit, but Noeleen encouraged me to go at my own maintainable pace. I decided to listen, be consistent and I never gave up. Literally with in 2 months I was running... Not only running, but I literally looked like a majestic unicorn on that treadmill and I run about 5km in 20mins... Not to shabby. Plus, I lost 13kgs and was feeling great about myself, my life and Inspiring others to make a change too and that was all just a bonus really. More importantly then gaining fitness, strength and transforming from the caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly; internally my health improved on another level. I had so much energy, my gut, hormones and inflammation issues came into balance and all became well in my world. I have never felt so much self love and peace in life as I have since training with Noeleen. It really brings me so much joy that at the age of 37 I can finally look in the mirror and truly say I love myself and my body. Bonus is that I’m a festival goer and now I can literally wear whatever the heck I want with confidence and look incredible. Heck Yeah!!
